Social Media Specialist 

Part-time $20/hour, with the possibility to go full-time and salaried 

Job Brief

We are looking for a Social Media Specialist to own all things social media for multiple company brands (the CEO and two of his companies). This includes creating content, editing copy, publishing posts, and engaging with relevant stakeholders for each account. 


What Does the Social Media Specialist Do? 

The social media strategist will work to drive customer engagement, website traffic, revenue, and brand awareness through social media channels (including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok) for multiple company accounts. The role also includes creating content for social media. 


The Social Media Specialist should have a solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to best optimize content for each channel. You are responsible for joining relevant conversations and engaging on behalf of the brand.


Position Responsibilities

  • Build and execute social media strategy through research, audience identification, posting, and engagement 

  • Generate, edit, publish and share content that builds a report and connection with our target audience

    • Generate: create graphics, continuously capture photos and videos (follow CEO around with a camera to capture content), write captions and copy, etc. 

  • Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content

  • Create calendars and schedules for posting and engagement  

  • Analyze data consistently to improve social media strategy 

  • Collaborate with other departments (sales, development, design) to manage and coordinate social media actions 

  • Manage multiple softwares to keep track of social analytics, posting, and engagement

  • Implement SEO on website platform 


Position Requirements

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge

  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels

  • Knowledge and experience with SEO and analytics 

  • Experience with social media content creation (graphics, photos, and videos for posts and stories, etc.)

  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations, or on track to complete a degree in one of these areas
